Brie soaked in maple bourbon, topped with bacon jam-
bacon, maple syrup, brown sugar, coffee,
onion, garlic, balsamic vinegar, brown mustard
Lemme tell you, bacon jam is DELICIOUS. Not only is it amazing on brie, but also on burgers, chicken sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches- pretty much any sandwich. Best part? It’s easy to make!

This particular recipe is INTENSELY flavorful. If you’re uncomfortable with that then I would recommend using less onion and garlic. It’s also fairly sweet, which also can be adjusted.
For the batch that I made specifically for this blog, I cut the pieces of bacon kind of large so that they would show up better in pictures. However, if you want a more jam-like consistency, then I would cut the bacon into smaller pieces.
When you initially cook the bacon, make sure it’s to the level of crispiness that you want. When you combine everything together, it may cook a little more, but it won’t crisp up because of all the liquids.
Remember, this is not meant to be healthy. None of these recipes are. They’re meant to be so sinfully good that your dinner party guests worry about their immortal souls afterwards.
Therefore, when you remove the bacon in order to cook the garlic and onion, don’t remove all of the fat. You want a little in there to cook the onion and garlic in because it’s delicious and it helps marry the flavors.
I also added a little maple bourbon to my jam. This isn’t a necessary step- in fact, for all of my alcohol adverse friends and readers, all of the alcohol used in my recipes can be ignored. It’s never an essential piece, just a really nice addition. I add it because this blog is called Easy Breezy Boozy Brie, and it’s a fun ingredient to play with.
Also, while we’re on the topic of maple bourbon- for my personal batch, I used Knob Creek’s smoked maple bourbon. However, I would NOT go out and drop a bunch of money on a specialty bourbon like that. For one, this particular bourbon is disgusting to drink, which is why I’m cooking with it (I was so disappointed).
It’s just as good to get a cheap brand and add some maple syrup to it. That way you can control the sweetness level and not spend a bunch for a brand name.

Taking your Dinner Parties to 11
Dinner Party music tip: Make sure that you have an extensive collection of funk and soul music playing in the background. It doesn’t matter if you actually enjoy it (though, you should)- it’s there to show how cultured and hip you are.
You could do jazz, but that’s the obvious choice and no one will believe you actually enjoy it (unless you’re me- I genuinely enjoy jazz).
This may or may not be a thinly veiled attempt to get more people into funk and soul.
Possible Dinner Conversation Topics
Here are a couple of topics NOT about politics that you can introduce:
As globalization and social media continues to create a more unified human experience, superheroes have stepped in to be internationally recognized symbols of moral righteousness. What are the pros and cons of these mostly American made “gods of justice” being the global narrative of what is “good”? That’s right, this shit gets deep.
